We have had at least another 7-8 inches of snow since Christmas Eve. Christmas day is was quite snowy and Richard stayed home as the road was not passable.
The snow amount is getting close to what we had last year in January of last year. We have broken the record for the most snow fall in a 24 hour period.
Richard has been out every day using his riding snow plow to keep the snow off the driveway. Yesterday it began to warm up and the snow has gotten mushy. Now that it has warmed up the roads will be a little more dicey to navigate in the mornings. “Black ice”
They are predicting another 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow starting about 10:am ending at 4:00pm. Enough all ready!

Record Snow Fall

Did we get pounded or what? Almost 2 feet of snow in 24 hours. A record for the Spokane area.
On Wednesday morning I thought that they were only predicting 4-7 inches. At about 10:00am it started to snow. It snowed and snowed and snowed. At 3:00pm, I thought it might be a good idea to leave work and try to get home before it got dark. At this point there must have been 6-8 inches of snow.
The drive home took 2 hours 15 minutes, which wasn’t really that bad. Most of the streets in Spokane were not passable and the route that I usually take was closed. I headed toward Division because I knew that would be open. Once on Division I knew I could get home as long as I didn’t get into an accident.
Richard gets off work at 2:00pm didn’t have much trouble getting home and was there when I arrived.
Thursday morning we got up early as we knew the commute time would be long. Richard left the house at 4:30 and I was getting ready to head for the shower so I could leave by 5:00. The next think I know Richard is walking up the front walkway says we are not going anywhere. He had gotten about 50 yards down the driveway when he just got stuck in the snow. There was just too much snow to drive thru.
Richard plowed our driveway only to find that the road had not been plowed. We stayed home on Friday also. Sometime between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning they plowed the road.
It is now Sunday morning at 7:30, it is snowing again. They are predicting an 3-6 inches of snow. Will be having a White Christmas.
