The weather was perfect this weekend. Mid sixties - calm.
Plantings:
Directed Sowed - 10 beets.
Started Seed - Zucchini and butterstick squash (2 each)
Activities:
Earlier this week, I purchased green/red peppers, jalapleno and herbs - parsley, sage and oregano. They are in the greenhouse until the weather warms up a little more. Last frost date is 5/15.
Cleaned the greenhouse up. Swept out the garage. Set up the outdoor sink. Watered the strawberries.
Miscellaneous Notes & Observations:
The spinach and snap peas are starting to come up. The garlic is doing well as is the onions.

This Weather….

I awoke to rain this morning which is good, I planted seeds yesterday afternoon- so rain is good. Then I checked my email this morning looking at my daily weather forecast and saw that we might have a dusting of snow maybe an inch overnight. I just couldn’t believe it, enough all ready.
On the way home from work this evening I stopped and bought a half pound of seed onions. Got home changed my clothes and rushed out to the garden to get those little puppies planted. A half pound equals about 40 onions, which I planted in 4 rows of ten. When I get home on April 27th there should be lots of little green sprouts in my garden hopefully, keeping my fingers crossed.
I took a quick look at my strawberries and they are beginning, just a little to show signs of growth. It would be just within the last 5 days that all the snow has melted off of them. If I have time tomorrow I am going to throw a little fertilizer on them.

Weather:
Beautiful close to 70°, windy this morning and overcast this afternoon. The snow is melting quite quickly now. I can’t believe how fast it has melted these two days.
Plantings:
Direct Sowed:
- Spinach
- Radishes
- Snap Peas
Activities:
I cleaned out the raised beds, which was pretty easy. There is garlic coming up where I planted it last October. I cleaned up the tomato plants that I didn’t remove last fall. Clipped back the herbs. There is still a lot to do and my strawberries look pretty sorry right now, so I hope that they look better when I get back.
Miscellaneous Notes & Observations:
This will probably be my last post before I go to California. So see around the 27th of April. We are supposed to have some rain for the next couple of days which will be good news.

Weather:
What a beautiful fall day. It was very cold this morning, by noon it had warmed up enough to venture out of doors. The sun was warm and the day was bright. The sky was clear and very blue.
Plantings:
None
Activities:
Pulled dead vegetables out of the raised beds, tomato plants, zucchini, beans. It is so sad to have to do this.
Weeded around the raspberries.
Need to winter over Asparagus.
Miscellaneous Notes & Observations:
I still have lettuce growing, very slowly.
Green onions and leeks are still going strong.
