End of June
Weather:
Has been in the 90°s all weekend and is supposed to be that way til the middle of July.
Plantings:
I planted basil this weekend. It should be ready to pick the end of August or early September. My snap peas are blooming and just like that I will have snap peas. By the end of the week I will have a ton of them.
Activities:
Since Richard still is not up to mowing, I spent most of Saturday morning mowing. This has been an experience that I would not like to repeat. Shortly, it will be too dry to have to worry about mowing.
I moved the strawberry pot from the barn to the garden since I don’t go to the barn much anymore. Planted it with lobelia. I mowed the weeds in the garden. There are still areas that I haven’t had the money to build up so I just mow the weeds, it works.
I used the weed whacker to clean the culvert at the front of the driveway.
Miscellaneous Notes & Observations:
I found a hummingbird in my greenhouse this morning. I was able to capture it and let it go. Poor little guy, he flew away with hesitation. My tomato plants are loving this warm weather and I have been watering them faithfully. I have radishes and have been picking them. This evening I am going to wash the car.

good to hear from the farm!! We enjoy hearing about what all you do..I HAVE A SUMMER PROJECT ON MY DINING ROOM TABLE..oops…I have all of the letters from Byrl from the time we were married 57 years ago through our service years..also have some from your mom ..she tells about you being a baby and us babysitting you..where have all the years gone…the letters are going to be a treasure for our kids..its the history of our first years of married life and Byrl` military experience..am beginning to think about how important those things are..I guess at 77 years old, its a natural thing. I love snap peas..wish I was there to enjoy yours!!! Lou
