Snow Crust
Filed Under Fall | Leave a Comment
It was unusually warm this week our 12 inches of snow has melted to about 3 inches, that’s good, only it has turned cold again and now we have 3 inches of ice and thankfully some bare patches to walk on. Every morning backing out of the carport up the slight incline to get the car turned towards the driveway has been very crunchy. It sounds like the tires are being ripped to shreds.
Today it is sunny and cold, 28° it is actually pretty nice out. I have started beef stew for dinner tonight good cold weather food. Richard has been out cutting up a tree that feel some time this last week, we did have a couple windy days. And me, well I am at my desk writing this. I have started World Without End by Ken Follett. It is an audio book and it is 45 hours long or 1024 pages that will be keeping busy for a few weeks. The an average of about 5 books at 9 hours long.
There are only 16 days until Christmas. I am hesitant to put up the tree as 3 dogs + 1 cat = disaster. But it only happens once a year so I suppose that we’ll chance it. Wish us luck.
