Garlic

I planted my garlic today. Chet’s Italian X large, Chet’s Italian premium and Ichelium Premium. There were two bulbs of each. You break the bulb up and plant each glove. They should be ready to harvest in June or July. I have moved my Rosemary plant into the green house.
It was a great day in the mid 50?s. The tamarack trees are all a bright yellow which makes a lovely contrast with green of the pines and cedars. I don’t think that we are going to have many more days like this, at least not weekends. So I am thinking snow.
Back to fall,
from my pumpkin patch. There were just as many that did not ripen. Pumpkins have a long growing season, I need to start the plants earlier next year to get a better crop. This year was better than last year when none of the pumpkins got ripe. They are a warm weather crop and at the hint of frost they are gone.
I have a bird feeder outside my desk window. It actually hangs off the end of the front porch, lately Crush has been catching birds. I see this flying cat paw up stretched to nab a bird. On Friday evening, he did catch one. I went out and made him give it up. Right now the chickadee’s are out since the cat is in.
