Weather:
On Monday, it was cold and rained most of the day, yesterday it was in the 70’s today 80’s and by Saturday it will be close to 90°.
Plantings:
Yesterday I planted radish - Cherry Bombs and beets (3). Various leaf lettuce. Since I nuked my cucumbers (transplanted them too early) I direct sowed 3 of each Sweet Success and Early Pride.
Activities:
Watered, mowed the lawn. Hauled a load of dirt to the potato batch to cover (hill) the sprouting potatoes. Once they grow up through this hill I will place another tire on them.
Miscellaneous Notes & Observations:
The zucchini seems to be well as do the pumpkin plants. The strawberries are blooming and I think that I will have strawberries soon. I harvested my first crop of spinach tonight and we had it for dinner. If the heat keeps up the spinach will bolt. The snap peas are doing well and I should have my first crop by mid June, maybe sooner.

Weather:
The for the last week has been nice hi 60’s - low 70’s. It has cooled off over night a couple on nights got pretty chilly. Right now we have a thunderstorm coming through.
Plantings:
Transplanted the pumpkins (2) to big tires. Hopefully they will do well in the tires. I am using the tires as raised beds, I have put wire in the bottom to discourage the gophers. I also move a zucchini and butterstick zucchini into the garden. I moved my little oregano and marjoram into planters that are in the garden.
I moved a daylily out by the barn, the dogs where always stepping on it so I moved it to location that the wouldn’t step on it. I also put a wire cage around it to ensure that it doesn’t get stepped on. The daylily will also get some more sun so maybe that will help
Activities:
A lot of weeding, the front of the house, the bed around the barn, the vegetable garden. I helped Richard move logs from the downed trees to the hay shed.
Richard has been removing tree stumps around the property. He has gotten about 3-4 stumps out.
I did spend some time in the house cleaning. The log walls needed to be cleaned the burning of wood in the house makes the walls really dusty. So Friday I washed all of the logs down.

Weather:
I am thinking it is summer all ready, 81° today. The low tonight is supposed to be around 41°. They are predicting possible thunderstorms and colder temperatures for the weekend.
Plantings:
So with the nice weather in mind, I planted my six cucumber plants this evening. Hope that they do well as I keep reading cucumbers do not transplant well. They sell them at the nursery in plastic pots for transplant so hopefully they will do well. Keep your fingers crossed.
Activities:
Watered and worked on my little project out by the barn… more to come.
Miscellaneous Notes & Observations:
My spinach and lettuce have started to grow a little faster. My spinach has been in the ground for 38 days it should be ready to pick in another couple of weeks.
The strawberry plants are coming along well. I have noticed that there are a few more asparagus poking up. Don’t think I will have enough to eat this year but with luck maybe next year.
