Weather:
It has warmed up again, the forecast for the next week is 40’s -50’s during the day and 40’s - 20’s at night. It has rained the last two evenings and that looks like it will continue for the next couple of days.
Plantings:
None
Activities:
I have been cleaning up around the garden. I have clean and moved the trellises into the workshop. Yesterday, I cleaned the small chicken coop and dumped the pine shavings on my raspberries and asparagus. Since the pine shaving have chicken poop I hope this will help the plants. We’ll see, I am glad for the rain to settle it all into the ground. The rain did hold off until evening. I also fixed my gate to the garden the latch had fallen off. I have got all the twine off the loft, just need to bag it up. There is a old bed frame up there that will have to be cut up and burnt.
Surprisingly, the lettuce I planted back in September survived the very cold nights we had last week. Granted the plants are not growing much.
I think that I have settled the chickens in now. They are using both the coops - I have cut a hole in the wire between the two coops. In the spring I will make something so that I can close it off again so that when I get more chicks they will have a place to go.
Miscellaneous Notes & Observations:
We have had two cords of wood delivered this weekend. the first load came Saturday afternoon around 4:30 and Sunday the Woodmen showed up at 7:30 pm.
